(TGA) - Which would be the better route? Does it depend on the time (traffic)? According to google, it looks like AZ-101 is longer, but faster.

101 is a highway. Scottsdale Rd. is more local with lights, retail,etc.

JWM Desert Ridge? Would need to know from where in Paradise Valley. JWM DR is close to Tatum Road which is more or less the middle of PV. PV the town is actually very small, but people often mean the general area. In any case, I would think north on Tatum Blvd to the resort, or Scottsdale Rd to 101 W, whichever is closer. 101 is kind of far from PV to go all the way there to go north and then west.

Thanks Bob! We'll be going from the Doubletree PV to the JW Desert Ridge. I posted on the central AZ forum too, and they seem to prefer the 101 route. Do you agree, from the Doubletree?

The Doubletree PV is right by Tatum Blvd. It would be way out of your way to go east to 101 etc. Just go north on Tatum Rd. JWM DR is just north of the 101 off of Tatum. It's less than 10 miles. The other way is about 30 miles.
It also would be possible to go west on Cactus to SR 51 expressway, north to Loop 101, then east on 101 to Tatum and north. It wouldn't save much time.

Actually the PV Doubletree is on Scottsdale Rd at Jackrabbit....much quicker to jump on the 101 and loop around. Get off at Tatum and you are right there on your right hand side. It's only about a 15 minute drive depending on traffic.

The Doubletree is at 5401 N. Scottsdale Road. Take the 101 at McDonald. It will be much faster than Scottsdale Rd.

Sorry. I confused this hotel with the Embassy Suites in Paradise Valley. I have stayed at both. It's kind of misleading that the PV Doubltree has PV in its name as its not in or close to PV.

Actually, the Doubletree is IN the town of Paradise Valley...they were part of an annex years ago, they pay PV taxes, receive PV services. Yes, I know they are on the "Scottsdale side of the street" but there is a little square on the map that is PV and the Doubletree is in it. Easy mistake, i made it for years...
