(TGA) - I am wanting to fly from Malta to Rome. Is Air Malta the only airline that flies from Malta as I can not find flights with any other airline.

The other airline that springs to mind is alitalia the Italian national airline. I imagine prices will be similar to Air Malta.

Alitalia is the other Airline you could try. Ryanair flies to Italy but not to Rome, they go to Venice, Pisa and Bari from Malta

Hi Janderra
As you ave been told , Alitalia and Airmalta have the majority of regular scheduled flights on the Malta Rome sector . Alitalia has a daily afternoon flight , while Airmalta has morning and Evening daily flights , some of which pass thru other airports while on the way to Rome.
Visit
or
for further details.
Prices will be very similar , since both airlines have a shared interest or schedule cooperation. Much depends on the time you want to travel and space availability .

Hi Twirl
Since Janderra wants to connect with her flight to Australia , there is no choice of airport other than Rome Fiumicino .

Hi Janderra
I have just checked both sites and the return flights in May are priced at Euro 98.45 whichever airline you book with . Booking one or the other does not mean you will be assured to travel on the company aircraft since both airlines operate each others schedule if required . You could book in an Alitalia office and travel on an Airmalta flight, since both airlines are part of the same shared group, cannot remember t he name , I think Alliance ?

If you go to
you will see on the Arrivals page that there are 4 airlines that operate from Rome , they are , Meridiana , Airmalta , Alitalia and Air France , on paper !
You should notice that the timings for the arrivals are the same for two of the airlines , since the same aircraft is operating a code shared flight for two or more airlines .
If you have a Qantas ticket , I think that you could get them to add the Airmalta flight to you ticket, maybe cheaper , since both airlines have an agreement to sell each others tickets , not 100% sure however !
