I'm flying from Phoenix to visit relatives in Annapolis, MD in the summer, and I am trying to combine that trip with a visit to friends who live in MA. One set of friends lives in the Southwest end of MA (Westfield) and the other lives about 30 minutes (If I"m reading the map correctly) of Boston (in Pembroke). As a southwesterner, I'm not sure what my options are for getting from point a to point b to point c .... do I fly from Maryland to Boston? Take the train from MD to Western MA? It doesn't look like I can fly directly from BWI to Bradley Internat'l airport (My WEstfield friends said that is the closest airport). Should I fly to Boston first, then make my way south/southwest --going to Pembroke, then take the train (doubt there is a plane?) to Westfield then go to Maryland? Any help from folks in the/from the area would be appreciated.

The only way to get to Bradley direct would be to fly United out of Dulles Airport rather than BWI--this would be at least an hour's drive from Annapolis. You have a lot more flexibility if you first go to Boston (or their surrounding airports such as Providence, Manchester) since there are plenty of non-stops to each of those from BWI.
As for your other questions, I'd post those in the Massachusetts state forum.
