BIg Tom&39;s Creek GA and Beaufort SC › Beaufort

(TGA) - Travel - I couldnt find a city near Big Toms Creek so have to combine two stays in one entry.
4/12 - Big Toms Creek GA
As we traveled through Georgia, Jay&8217;s &8220;clams&8221; radar kept going off. We cut the day short to get clams. When we dropped the anchor, we realized we had interrupted a little otter&8217;s fun. It hung around for a couple of minutes and scamped off. What a good omen! My left over ear problem from being sick was bothering me, so the deal was Jay would get started and come back to get me in a little while. The next thing I knew Jay was back food good. When he had slid off the dinghy to go clamming, he went knee deep in the Georgia marsh muck. He thought he had lost his Crocs (shoes with holes) for good, but through sheer determination retrieved them and got back to the boat where he got to use his new &8220;wash down&8221; system on himself instead of the intended purpose of washing muck of the anchor.

We&8217;re really making this a slow trip back home. The proof is that we are passing the same sailboats each day. The difference is we may be under power three or four hours and they are sailing for 8 or more hours. Yesterday would have been especially difficult for the sailors as they were fighting both wind and tide for a big chunk of the day.
Even though I had self-prescribed myself some left-over antibiotics for my ear, it turns out they were the wrong ones. We pulled into SC&8217;s Downtown Marina so that Jay could hang out with old marines ( is across the ICW and some old marines can&8216;t stand to be far away) while I went to find out that I have double ear infections. Different antibiotics have already helped.
We had dinner at Panini&8217;s on the waterfront. Jay had the Mahi w/shrimp and crab and I had the basil chicken. Both were excellent. The last time we ate at Panini&8217;s the food was good, so we highly recommend the restaurant. Bring a sweater.
