(TGA) - Well this weekend has been very relaxing. If youve been following along up to this point, youd know that weve been putting a lot of miles on the van in the past couple weeks. Weve criss-crossed Texas and have literally been through all four corners of Texas this month--Amarillo up intop Colorado in the North, El Paso out west, Mission, TX in the south, and so far east that we stopped in New Orleans. And, despite a semester marked with stretches of down time, for more than one solid week, weve had a new hotel every day. Now, last semester that was the norm, but this semester requires at least 4 hours driving each day to get to the next hotel. So... all that to say, our saddles have been sore lately. Thus, we welcomed the idea of a four-night stay in Lubbock, TX. When we arrived at our Days Inn, we were a little underwhelmed by the lack of "stuff" to do around our hotel. It was surrounded by other hotels, but there wasnt even so much as a restaurant in sight. But we didnt care. Especially when we walked in. This Days Inn was certainly the nicest Days Inn weve ever seen--even one of the nicest hotels in hich weve stayed. When you walk in past the front desk, you enter a grand foyer courtyard. The rooms circle the courtyard on two levels. There are some tables set up for seating, and the room is adorned with several decorative features. A bronze mustang rears up on its hind legs, a water feature trickles down a landscape of rocks, and a pool with hot tub quietly hums in the other end of the room.We found ourselves quite at home rather quickly. The room was even one of the nicest in which weve stayed. Very comfortable and spacious. I feel like Im writing a review for their website. Needless to say, it was a great place to spend four nights. We enjoyed ourselves--didnt really go anywhere. It was just nice to not have to drive. We played games, watched some movies, soaked in the hot tub...On Sunday,we found a little church not too far away--Southpark Baptist Church. We were so warmly welcomed! So many people came up to us both at the beginning and at the end of the service, thanking us for visiting. It was perhaps the most welcoming little church weve visited. One guy even remembered our names from before the service, and bid us farewell as we left. When we left, we figured we should get some lunch while we could, because we knew we were in the only place with restaurants for miles around. Fortunately, we stumbled across a seemingly random Buffalo Wild Wings. We usually only go on Tuesdays for 40 cent wing day, but this could be a welcomed exception. After we ordered, we saw on a little pamphlet that a little online trivia game was free. We had always seen them in the restaurant before, but we always assumed it cost money. So we asked our waitress for a little console, and she gave us each one.The way it works is that you have a little console, like a keyboard, and it has a screen on it to
