(TGA) - We are traveling to Europe for approximately 10 months with Croatia as our base. We will be in Croatia in excess of 90 days however this will not be consecutive days i.e short trips to other countries then returning to Croatia. Given the purpose of our visit is tourism / visiting family what type of visa is required?

You will have to appy for a visitors visa from the Croatian embassy in your own country before you travel to Croatia should you wish to stay longer than the 90 day tourist visa - you can read all about the visa system on this site:-
mup.hr/main.aspx?id=1266#Temporary%20stay
Make sure you do obtain visa before travelling to Croatia otherwise you will be asked to leave after 90 days stay
Good luck !

I think that Australian citizens do not need visa but best to check the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
