Hi,
I am driving up to Germany from Greece next Tuesday and will be passing through Serbia. I will be entering Serbia from Bulgaria and heading up to Hungary.
I am reading all sorts of negative experiences about driving through Serbia, including corrupt police pulling people over for breaking the speed limit when they were not and demanding fines.
Also, I only hold a UK license and not an international driving license as I don't need one here in Greece. Some websites say I don't need one if I'm just passing through, some say it's recommended and others say it's compulsary.
I will be travelling on the E80 (entering from Bulgaria) and then onto the E75 only.
Please could anyone clarify the license requirements and also any other tips I should be aware of.
Thanks.

Don't worry, the most things you heard are not true.
There's hardly any police along the way, anyway I advise you not to drive over the speed limit (130km/h)
For the license - I don't know. My serbian license was valid in the UK, I guess it is the same for yours here.
The E-75 motorway is like any other motorway in Europe. There's a lot of petrol stations, restaurants, motels..
In case you need help, you can call 987. That is Automobile and Motorcycle Association http://www.amss.org.rs/index.html
Relax and have a good journey :)

Don't relax too much on the road because Serbs are awful drivers and the roads don't help. On the other hand Serbia is a really safe country, the people really welcoming and you have nothing to worry about in that sense at least.
