(TGA) - Travel - My first day out I followed I 64, through the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, and across the mountains of West Virginia. It seemed like every highway in West Virginia was having construction done, so the traffic was a little congested, but made up for it by the beautiful mountain scenery. Redbud, Dogwood, Paulonia, Locust, and Viburnums were all in bloom along the roadside. In the higher passes, spring was underway, and the trees just leafing out. Passing Charleston, the capitol of WV, the gold dome of the capitol building gleamed brightly in the sun. Passed over the Kanawha several times before entering the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Gradually came down out of the mountains and into the bluegrass country on my way to , where I turned north along I65, after passing Louisvilles famed Spaghetti Junction which was a major congested pain in the neck in the evening rush hour. Drove an hour north, and bedded down in a motel for the night.
