(TGA) - Any comments on weather conditions we might be facing in mid-April on our 28 hour drive, from KY thru OK, then Albuquerque, to GC? If we decide to return home from GC up to Four Corners, then Mesa Verde, CO and visit Colorado Springs, will the roads be open and drivable? Oh, we're driving a mini-van with 2 adults and 2 teenagers and 1 pre-teen) on Spring Break!

You can look at weather.com for the areas of your concern and see averages for months. Once you hit altitude in NM, AZ and CO, there is always chance of cold weather, rain and snow in April. Most years there are snows in spring. There is no way to predict. Check weather forecasts closer to your dates. It would be unusual to encounter anything that closes roads at that time of year, or presents driving problems. The most likely place you could encounter less good late winter driving conditions will be going east from Mesa Verde, particularly if you travel on US160 through Wolf Creek Pass.
