(TGA) - Ok, here are my plans for our Austria vacation..
June 21st to July 26th we will be in Austria, my husband and I and two daughters. My youngest daughter will be turning 4 on July 18th. For the Eurail Austria pass, children under 4 are free so, as long as we use the pass by the her birthday, the 18th, we should be fine with not getting her a ticket, right?
What I am a little unsure of is this...
it says " Eurail Austria pass Saver 8 days within one month"
Does 1 month mean 30 days or does it mean the whole month and only the month of July, for example.
I'm just trying to figure out if it means that if we start using the pass on June 21st, can we only use it the month of June or can we use it for 30 days starting from June 21st?
I really hope I'm not confusing anyone?!
Thank you in advance :)

Your pass must be activated / stamped by rail personnel on the first day of actual use . This date of activation stamp is the start date of the term for the pass.

Thank you for your response!
I'm still confused though as to whether the pass will only be good for that calender month, say if I activate it June 21st, will it only be good for the remaining days in June OR once I activate it, it will be good for exactly one month from the activation date?

Perhaps you have not taken the time to research the website for these passes. These questions and much more are fully explained there. www.eurail.com
the activation process and validity are very clear.
You must activate or validate your pass before the first train travel . The date of activation is placed on the pass . It would be valid for 30 days from the date of this activation - not by calendar month.

By the way: Eurail Passes are often bad value.
For example: children younger than 6 travel for free if they travel with an paying adult (on regular tickets).
What are you travel plans? Maybe point-to-point tickets might work out cheaper!
