(TGA) - Hello,
I am in desperate need of help. We are planning to go to the EXIT Festival in Novi Sad (Serbia) but we would like to spend the week after somewhere by the sea.
Any suggestions? Any (easy!) connection from Serbia to Croatia? Turkey? Greece? or wherever?
Any suggestions is very much welcome : )
Many thanks, Robi

It depends on what means of transport you have in mind. If flying from Belgrade or Budapest (both easy from Novi Sad) Europe is your oyster depending on cost.
By car you can drive from Novi Sad - Belgrade - Sarajevo - Mostar - Split
and be on the Adriatic coast of Croatia. Dubrovnik, the Islands etc. But it will take anlong days driving and the same back. I think you have time limitations for car/bus and train.
As you have limited time, flying to a destination and then back direct to London from there would be best, Dubrovnik to London sounds like a sensible option. How do you plan to arrive in Serbia? Look to flights from Belgrade or Budapest to Croatia, then Croatia to London.

P.S. The above answers your O.P.
But how about an alternative, coming to Belgrade for a week?
We have Ada Ciganlija, a 'Beach resort' , Zemun, the open air discos and bars & restaurants (Slavovi) some of the best nightlife in Europe. If you've never been to Belgrade in the summer and not expolored what's available you are in for a treat, and SO different to heading for a holiday resort.
Google Ada Ciganlija and Zemun.
Look at links here: www.belgradeeye.com
If you have never been to Belgrade in the summer, to leave Serbia is a mistake IMO,

Hello Stoofer,
Many thanks for your reply. This is my 3rd times in Serbia and I have been to Belgrade before (and loved it!) EXIT is an amazing festival but we obviously spent some time in Belgrade as well : )
We definitely want to flight as we don't have too much time. I looked for the flight from Belgrade to Dubrovnik with Jat but it is not available on the website. I sent Jat an email to enquiry about it.
I am considering flying to Istanbul and then from there to Dalaman, to then come back here in Leeds. However, as I lived in Turkey before, I was hoping to visit another country.
I love your passion for your country which it's well justified as I have never found a country so hospitable and friendly!
Once again many thanks, Robi

Why not fly form Belgrade to Montenegro - it is only a short flight and there are several each day. I think it was about 60 EUR last year. A more scenic option is the train from Belgrade to Bar in Montenegro but it will take a lot longer.
Take a look at resorts such as Petrovac, Sveti Stefan etc if you want a coastal break. Bare in mind though that there is much more to Serbia than Belgrade and Novi Sad and there is some fantastic scenery and wildlife in the more rural areas.

Yep, of course you could tour Serbia, I was just highlighting that Belgrade in summer actually has a 'resort' many don't know about, even after visiting.
Lots of choice, as I said, also look at flights from Budapest, you're not that far away at Exit.
Personally I would stay in the former Yugolsavia, as Balkan Addict points to Montenegro, Croatia or more of Serbia. It doesn't have to be south that time of year, north Croatia will have good weather, also Slovenia is nice but not beach. Lake Bled etc.
Good luck
