Would love to go back this year but can only be if we get a good deal. We would like to visit a few other parts of FL and go to Daytona but still spend time in orlando.
Does anyone know if its any cheaper to fly into another FL airport than orlando?
How easy is it to pick up accomodation if you go for a flydrive?

Hi we fly into either Orlando, Sanford or Tampa depending who has the best price for the time we want to visit. Miami could be another option if you were thinking of touring around a bit.
I usually stay in a villa but I'm sure someone on the forum will point you in the right direction regarding booking accommodation.

Also does anyone know if it can work out cheaper to book it all yourself directly with airline or hotel than use travel agents??

We book everything independant.
Try Continental airlines for flights into orlando/miami/tampa via new york.
And carhireflorida.net for your car

Thanks. We used continental last year but had 2 1/2 hour drive to edinburgh then the 2 flights and found it quite hard going. Bad expereince with travel agent last year 2 so thought we could do it ourselves this time.

I have booked everything independently. Flights from Newcastle to Sanford with Thomson, Townhouse from www.travelrepublic.co.uk (£248 pw) second week Royal Pacific booked direct with hotel (7nights for price for 5) carhire with www.uscarhire.co.uk (2 weeks compact £270).
This way I get what I want without the silly constraints of booking with a tour company and I also get a price that suits me.
We have been doing independent holidays for a long time now and never had a problem.
