(TGA) - I live about an hour North of Wisconsin Dells and have been to WI Dells many many times.

Just a note about parking. There is metered parking all along Broadway and side roads in the main downtown area. Do not park there. If you go one block South, there is a street called Washington. There is metered parking if you drive further West on the street, but if you don't mind walking a little, there is free parking further East on the street.

There is also a really good Mexican restaurant on Broadway, I don't know the name of it or the corner street it is on. It is run by Mexicans, and all homemade food. They only take cash. Also only open in the summer months. Much better than Pedros.

Noah's Ark is the best waterpark in my opinion

There is a steam train ride you can take in North Freedom, about a 15 minute drive from the Dells. It costs $15/ adult. I think it is well worth the price. Very nice ride.

There is a restaurant in Baraboo called the log Cabin restaurant. Very good food. Not to be missed

Either Private's Cove or the one right across the street, can't remember the name right now are the two best miniature golf places. Private's Cove is all in the sun, the other one is shady.

Best ice cream place is Stone Cold Creamery. They make their own ice cream right there. There is a Starbucks right next door and well as a Quizno's. All three have delicious yummies. They are on the west end of broadway, way down, almost right before you get to the freeway.

If you feel like driving about 45 minutes North on Hwy 13, Adams county has a huge flea market that is only open on Saturday and Sundays from May to about after late September. You can find some really good deals there.

Is the mexican restaurant you are talking about the one with the "breakfast" sign but is never open for breakfast? Small place on the main drag?

I've been wanting to try there but they don't seem to have consistent hours.

I would love to find someplace other than the other sad offerings of mexican food in the Dells!

Hmmm, I'm not sure if they have a breakfast sign or not, I have never noticed. Sorry. But yes, it is a very small place, right on Broadway. It is on the South side of the street. I believe it has a red and green and white (Mexican colors?) awning on the outside. It is more toward the eastern end of Broadway, I can't really remember the corner street, sorry. Just don't forget if you happen across it, there is a sign right on the cash register that says cash only, so then you know you are in the right place. It is very authentic.

Was just in the Dells last weekend, and yes that Mexican place does have a breaskfast sign (a flashing electric sign).

I believe you're talking about the Colotlan Mexican Restaurant, which is where the Dells Grill used to be in its time (so explaining the breakfast and fried chicken signs alluded to).

As for that other mini-golf place referenced in the original item, was he referring to Timber Falls?

Too, Noah's Ark is probably the best waterpark, hands down.

And for the best pizza, go Pizza Pub. (Definitely try the noon buffet.)

For brekkie, try Mr. Pancake or IHOP; Paul Bunyan's is probably becoming so last Wednesday.
