(TGA) - whats the best way of getting to both Marbella and Gibraltar
---- Reply -----
Will you be hiring a car or are you looking for a coach excursion? Marbella is about a 40 minute drive and Gibraltar just under 90 minutes. The route is straight along the A-7 or AP-7 (toll) heading for Cadiz.
If you are taking an organised tour to Gibraltar, there are several travel agencies in Benalmadena and you can get a trip for about €15. The same companies will probably do coach trips to Marbella, although the local buses will be more flexible regarding times and are cheap and efficient. Timetables are at ctsa-portillo.com/ima/… and there is a regular service taking 55 minutes and costing €3.50 each way.

As an alternative to organised trips, Portillo bus timetable offers two ways to Gibraltar. Get the 0730 bus to La Linea, and walk across the border. Takes 2 and a half hours. €9.37 each way. From the border take the local bus (or the ex-London opentop hop on/hop off bus) into Gibraltar town.
Or for an earlier or later start, there are buses to Algeciras at 0525 and 0900 from where there are local buses every half hour to La Linea. Via Algeciras could add about an hour. €10.11 each way plus about €2 Algeciras to La Linea.
Back from La Linea bus station at 17 45 (or later from Algeciras at 21 00). Plus a late bus on Sundays from La Linea at 20 45.
