Swiss Francs is the local money. Many shops accept Euros, but change is in Swiss Francs, and rates are not always good.

NO Staxs ! Not true...

In fact you can use Euros here in Switzerland in the bigger restaurants, shops (including Migros and Coop) and hotels BUT you will not get a good exchange rate and you will get your change in Swiss francs. Unless on a very fleeting visit it is much better to get Swiss francs from a cash machine on arrival and spend those here, then change them to Euros before leaving the country.
