(TGA) - Is it worth the time to take a boat from Rhodes to Thessaloniki and if so, which islands to stop at?

Hey and welcome Icavise:-) It all depends..firstly, on how much you've got! These sailings are not frequent and even in Season maybe a couple of times a week..You'd need to check the route (stops) the ferry makes as it works it's way up but bottom line, no need to stick to that particular ferry since the isles in the Dodecanesse have frequent service between them..so if a straight run up to Thessaloniki is not needed..don't see the need to even consider this particular sailing! Check www.gtp.gr/ www.openseas.gr/ www.greekferries.gr/ for schedules/routes..The ferries to/fom Thessaloniki are limited..believe they include Lemnos, Lesbos, Chios, Kos as well as Rhodes.. so you can make arrangements once you know the isles it services..and go from there;-) Let us know how the planning goes..EnjoY!

The ferry Rhodes to Thessaloniki is only once per week via 5 islands, all are worth visiting, some are large so think of around at least 6 weeks for that.
However ferries are daily to just about all islands as far as Samos. North of Samos ferries are quite sparse.
All 13 islands between Rhodes and Samos are worth visiting.
