(TGA) - What is the best way to fly in to southern Italy?

Fly in to Rome or Naples. Depending on where you want to go to, you could then either rent a car or take a train.

There are airports in Bari and Brindisi. Your airline may (or may not) be able to book you through. If they can't, leave plenty of time for passport control and collecting luggage in Rome. As far as I know, there is only very limited service and only in summer from JFK to Naples by Meridiana/Eurofly.
