(TGA) - Hello. I am looking for a hotel in the Maumelle or Conway, Arkansas area. I'm not familiar with the area but I think these two locations are somewhat close to one another. My son's basketball team is heading there next weekend for a tournament and from the short search I've done the rooms are scarce since the tournament date is so close. If it helps any I believe the games are being played in Conway and "surrounding areas".

Maumelle is a bit to far from conway if they are playing in conway...

The drive between maumelle and conway can be slow going if you catch it at the wrong time....

Stay here if your're stopping through Little Rock but want to skip the city. The hotels in the city run $20 more a night or more for the same quality. Maumelle is right off the 40 hwy. I booked this room through Expedia whom gave me a headache for changing the booking to the next night. I was moving across the country and needed a clean motel pre-booked w/ continental breakfast where my belongings would be safe.
Location of hotel was set back from the street, so no traffic noise.
The beds were very flexible but still comfortable.
Everything was clean and well decorated.
The towels were new & fluffy yet stiff.
Next to Subway and Waffle House.
Right off the 40 highway.
Small efficient coffee maker.
Tap water was good.
Continental breakfast was basic with no fruit.
Morning desk staff was friendly and well spoken.
My only issue about the hotel was that by the time I checked in late at night, there were two women (prostitutes) talking very loudly on the other side of the wall throughout the night. The walls were fairly thin, so we could hear them laughing and pounding their hands directly behind our headboard.
The subway next to the hotel was by far the worst service I have ever received.

I agree with Fordarama - Don't stay in the Maumelle/North Little Rock area if your tournament is in Conway. You should not have a problem if you act now. Hampton Inn in Conway, for example, has 19 rooms available.

We're looking for at staying at the
Comfort Suites Maumelle. is this a safge area of town?
We need a safe area, clean and close to I-40. We'll just be staying 1 night with 2 small kids. can't afford much.

Maumelle Ar is a pretty nice, stable community which is considered pretty safe. This hotel may be technically a Maumelle mailing address, but it's at a place called Morgan Interchange out by the expressway with only a few other food and/or gas places nearby. So it is hard to weigh safety in a transient place like this. I can't find reviews on this hotel but Comfort has generally a decent reputation around here. They seem to monitor their properties fairly well. It may not bother you that restaurant selections out at exit 142 are limited and there is nothing the least bit interesting in the vicinity. Not that it's particularly any safer, but the Comfort in downtown Little Rock is at least near the Clinton Presidential Center, the River Market, many restaurants and museums. Not sure how the rates compare.

thank you jimjade3 for that info. But this will just be for a few hours of sleep. Driving to TN from OK looking for a half way point to sleep. Will be getting in late like 11pm or so.
We just want a safe place since we have the two little ones...and clean too!

You should be okay out there. I think that Comfort has indoor corridors which are considered a safety feature. I'd be cautious just like you should be in any unfamiliar transient type location.
