(TGA) - Has anyone heard of Portugal auto rental.com?

Are they reliable?

Don't know about Portugal auto rental but I always recommend carjet.com. Have used carjet numerous times in Europe and the States and have never had a problem, have always been the least cost alternative. We are going to Portugal in October and our rate for a compact car is $125 for 4 days. Carjet is a broker so you can end up renting from some small companies but again never any problems.

If you have not already booked a car for Portugal stay away from Portugal Car Hire,they are a bunch of crooks,I rented from them for 3 months in 2009 .and had nothing but trouble,eg, bad dents on the car on arrival,outdated licence permits,car kept stalling (did nothing about it),owner very nasty ,I could go on and on .I have since gone with Auto da Jarme with is very reliable.

I rented from Portugal Car hire in 2009 for 3 months and had nothing but trouble,eg bad dents in the car on arrival ,outdated licence permit,car ran very badly,owner very nasty ,poor management.I could go on and on .I have since gone with Auto da Jarme at Faro Airport.

go onto cartrawler web site, we have always got good deals there, go for cheapest cos nine times out of ten you will be upgraded

I already rented from then and had no horror stories to tell. It was the best deal by far; the car was fine some dents which we noted at the beginning and did not get accused of ; we did buy the extra waiver insurance because when we called our credit card they only cover insurance if you decline damage waiver which is not possible with any rental car company in Portugal. The only other one that was comparable was YO CAR and it was too much of a hassle as they don't have an office in LIsbon.
