(TGA) - Looking to plan a trip to the Royal Gorge in May. Thinking about staying the night in either Pueblo or CO. Springs. if we opt for the Springs has anyone traveled on CO-115. That is the route that mapquest recommends and it seems to be around the same mileage and time to get to either Pueblo or the Springs?
Have you taken CO-115? road conditions? very curvy? mountainess? Good scenery?Looking to plan a trip to the Royal Gorge in May. Thinking about staying the night in either Pueblo or CO. Would you recommend a night in Pueblo or in CO. Springs and why?

Yes, the usual route (at least the one I always take down to the RG) is CO-115 South. Road conditions are very good, nice scenery, not mountainess, some curves, but not mountain curves - it is an easy and pleasant drive.
Stay in Colorado Springs - much more to see and do than in Pueblo. You may want to consider adding a visit to Garden of the Gods or Pikes Peak to your itinerary while you're in the area.
