(TGA) - I'm looking for shopping spots in Dayton, OH. I think we're staying downtown and we're interested in both the funky/offbeat shops as well as more mainstream stores. Any recommendations? Thank you.

There is very little shopping in downtown Dayton any more. You might try the Oregon district on 5th Street, not far from downtown. Very mixed bag of vintage collectible shops/porn shops/thrift store, etc. Perhaps not for after dark and I don't know what's open on Sundays.
If you have a car, you could drive out to Yellow Springs, about 30 miles from downtown Dayton on Rt. 68 (slow way would be Rt. 35 east to Rt. 68 north and keep going until you hit Yellow Springs. Wine/gourmet food shop, used bookstores, jewelry shops, interesting import shops, and Young's Jersey Dairy ice cream further north on Rt. 68 about 2 miles--homemade and delicious.
There are three malls in the area: The Dayton Mall, down Rt. 75 to Centerville. The Greene--I'm sure your hotel desk can direct you, and The Mall at Fairfield Commons (ditto). The Greene is more upscale and the other two have the usual mall stores.
Jeffersonville has several outlet malls. Again, ask your hotel for directions--it's a treck from downtown Dayton, though.
