(TGA) - I am unfamiliar with the great beaches in MI. I have heard they are great and want to plan a family trip. We have 12 of us divided into 3 families. We are not particular on location (except want to be close or on beach). We would prefer some condos/timeshares or rental houses over motel rooms. Any comments are appreciated.

I know this is for Grand Haven, but you also posted under a string for South Haven, so I thought I would answer on this post.
There are several 'cottages' RIGHT ON South Haven's North Beach that are available thru VRBO (here's the link: http://www.vrbo.com/vacation-rentals/usa/michigan/southwest/south-haven)
There are a couple that would accommodate your entire group.

VRBO is a great website to find rental houses on the Lake Mi. shoreline. we have spent several summers there and all the towns from South Haven on up are great. Word of warning ask how many steps there are as some of the properties have 100 steps to the beach or more and can be a pain if hauling stuff up and down or if older people are with you. If new to the area you may not realize this. Grand Haven is great, also Saugatauk and South Haven
