(TGA) - We will be in Austria over St. Patrick's day and I am just wondering if that is celebrated there like it is in the US with fun and revelry at taverns.

St. Bonifazius is the local guy, not St. Patrick. Unless you run into some ex-pats, unlikely that you will find big party or green beer (ugh!).

Several Irish pubs in Vienna allow for celebrations but this day not important here other places

Where in Austria??. e.g. if you are in Salzburg Munich has a Paddy's day parade. Usually takes place on the Saturday or Sunday before. Maybe not as big as some of the bigger ones in the states but nevertheless bands, irish dance troupes (my friend runs a school) and a stage set-up at Odeonsplatz with plenty of the Blackstuff.
