Things to do › Harpers Ferry

(TGA) - We are thinking of a brief trip to the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. Besides the historic areas, are there scenic parks with nice foliage and waterfalls and easy hiking trails in the Eastern Panhandle. Your suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks.

Harpers Ferry and Shepherdstown are nice places to visit. Both are historic towns. Shepherdstown is a college town and there are a lot of activities that deal with the arts there as well as a few small museams and such.

Harpers Ferry is having the 150th anniversary of John Browns Raid this month so there will be plenty of activities going on. Check out the Ghost Tour while you're there, it is very good.

Haven't done them but Cacapon State Park offers some trails, etc. It's about an hour from Harpers Ferry.
