Hello

I need tips on how to arrange transport from Dubrovnik airport to Budva, Montenegro.

All help is greatly aprichiated :-)

Can you tell me if you have managed to book this?

I am travelling to Herceg Novi and was to be collected by the apartment owners friend. I have just been informed that Montenegrans are not allowed to collect family, friends or tourists from DBV airport and they will get fined between 500 - 1000 euro.What is this??We are not allowed to use anybody except croatian taxi drivers and public transport.

Is this not against human rights convention?I am absolutely appalled if this information is correct.Can anybody please shed some light on this matter?

I have heard something to the same effect. We have a contact in Budva that can drive us to the airport when we are going back home, but he can not pick us up when we arrive. He didn´t want to go into specifics, but said that there would be trouble if he did.

I am slao shocked and I don´t understand why.

I have not yet been able to arrange transportation. The bus is not an option as it only goes two times a day. The first departure is before we arrive and the other means almost eight hours wait in Dubrovnik. Not an option when we are travelling with a small child.

of course Montenegrins can collect family and friends but their taxi drivers cannot collect the people from Dubrovnik airport just because they don`t have concessions and, as they are from other country,don`t pay taxes so cannot make a business in Croatia.

You can take a taxi or arrange a private transfer from Dubrovnik airport easily

That claryfied things :-) My contact runs a transportcompany in Montenegro, so now I understand why he said he couldn´t. It makes sense not to do business in a country you don´t pay taxes to.

You said it is easy to arrange taxi or private transport. Do you have any companies you would recomend? We are travelling with a small child of 4 years, so we need a serious company that can provide a childseat for safety.

Just get a taxi out of the airport and then get your friend to pick you up at a pre arranged place....simple.
