(TGA) - We are planning a trip for a few days from Virginia. Will fly into Miami. How long is the drive on average from Miami airport to Islamardo?

It usually takes me about a day and a half. it's the journey, not the destination.

YES - on the journey is just as important as the destination.
Not flying. Normal driving times.
MIA to Florida City - normally 40 minutes.
Florida City to Key Largo - normally 25 minutes
Through Key Largo - normally 10 minutes
Key Largo to Islamorada - normally 20 minutes
Thats 95 minutes. Close enough to 90 minutes not to worry.

How are the beaches in Islamorada? One travel agent said we shoud stay at the Ritz in Biscayne Bay verses Islamorada. What do you regulars know..

It's only 2 hrs, not stopping, from MIA to Marathon. Marathon is only 30 miles from Isla, and Marathon is 1 hr from KW, so it's only 3 hrs to KW from MIA - I do this drive enough to know.
