We were just in Evanston (which I believe is on your route) and it's flippin' cold there right now with snow forecasted for the near future. There are no tipies in effect for that part of Wyoming (just slick in some spots) or for Casper, but for current information bookmark www.wyoroad.info

Wow, I hate to answer weather questions since the last time I told someone not to bother bringing his 4-wheel drive as we were having a warm spell. Naturally, we had a major snowstorm during the time he said he'd be here. But here goes:
We have had an amazingly frigid week here. Tuesday night we had a low of -29 and the days top out at about 10 degrees. And we have about 6 in. of snow on the ground here in Casper and around most of the state. Starting today we are going to warm up (it's 14 now, woo hoo), teens and 20's til Sunday, then maybe a little more snow, then next week in the 30's. We also have wind today and who knows for how many days next week.
What this means for driving is that the roads are mostly clear, but wind + snow can = snow blowing across the roads obscuring visibility. How bad depends on where you are and how much wind, etc. It can be a little annoying or it can be blinding.
With the warm up, it means the snow will begin to melt and then refreeze when the temps go down in the evenings. Can make for treacherous ice on the roads.
I know this sounds pretty discouraging, but just some things to be careful about. With any luck, you will have clear sunny days and dry roads. Just leave yourself enough time to be flexible about pulling off the road if conditions get bad, and please carry a winter emergency kit in your car - blankets, water, food, heat source, light source, flares....always a good idea where ever you are driving in the winter.
Have a good and safe trip.
