(TGA) - Visited Savannah October 30-November 1, 2009. The weather was gorgeous. No city embraces Halloween quite like Savannah, GA. Seeing all the costumes and the crowd on River Street was the highlight of our trip. Since my partner and I enjoy ghost hunting, the trip involved 2 ghost tours. One was a trolley tour with Oglethorpe tours and the other a pub crawl with Tara Tours. Both had their pros and cons (see review under Oglethorpe Tours and see Tara Tours for review of the pub crawl). We stayed at the Hyatt which was booked through Priceline with an outstanding rate of less than $90 a night. We did not eat at any outstanding restaurants but we never had a bad meal. We spent part of the time at Bonaventure Cemetery since we didn't get to go there the other time we visited Savannah. It is spectacular and everyone should at least visit or drive through it once. We rented an electric car through Savannah Cruisers since my partner was still getting over the flu and didn't have the energy to walk all day. I highly recommend this and the cost is in line with the trolley services. I recommend doing a trolley tour if you have never been to Savannah and then renting one of the electric cars. We could go anywhere we wanted to in the historic district and we went down streets we would have never gone down had we been walking the entire time. Walking is great if you have a lot of time but if you're limited to time or for health reasons, then the electric car (expensive golf kart) is the way to go. I love Savannah and I'm sure I will be back some time in 2010.

Thanks for the review, especially the info about renting the scooters! If you haven't already done so, maybe you could leave a review for their company, also. I don't think I have seen one on TravelGuideAdvice yet.

I tried to find them on Trip tip and could not locate them. They are called Savannah Cruisers. The website is www.savannahcruisers.com They are not scooters. They are considered electric cars and most are 4 seaters but they do have some 6 seaters.

How cool! Wish I'd known about those yesterday. We did the Oglethorpe trolley tour (excellent tour! official review to come) and a couple of on & offs but I can't do the walking to really get to the places we wanted to see. Next time for sure.
