(TGA) - My husband and I, our 18 year old daughter and her 18 year old friend will be in SC in August. My daughter is attending Coastal Carolina University and we will be moving her in on August 14 (Saturday). We are driving from Vermont and will be arriving early in the week. Ideally, we would like a 2 bedroom oceanfront condo or other comparable unit/room. The problem is we seem to be on the outside edge of the high season and everything I have looked at only books from Saturday-Saturday. I don't mind paying for the week, but we would definitley need to stay in SC through the 15th (Sunday). I am certain the 18 year olds will want to be close to all the action so we were looking at Central MB, but would consider looking at anything that is a short commute to Coastal. We will be in MB in June to attend orietation. Currently booked at Sea Watch. Would like to explore other options. We will have a little time to look around then. Any suggestions?

A lot of the condos in Myrtle Beach operate like a hotel. Just go on line and put in your dates and you can see the availability and price. I know Carribean (sp) resort books that way as I have stayed there. It is around 28th street in M.B. There are others in that area as well. Good luck.

We are doing a nightly rental (5 days) at Sea Watch in June. We wanted to look at other properties for August. Other than the Caribbean, could you provide me the names of other condo resorts that would allow me to rent by the night? I would even consider paying for the week (i.e. renting from an owner is really the way to go price-wise), but I need to get that extra Sunday in somewhere. I am looking for a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom oceanfront unit that is updated and clean. We would enjoy a property that is not crazy with little kids and is close enough to the major attractions to satisfy the two 18 year old girls. Thank you for your suggestions.

I have only stayed at Carribean. I am sure Breakers rents by the day too and really a lot of others as well. This is really the North Myrtle Beach site and you might be better off reposting this on the Myrtle Beach site. FYI, I have been going to Myrtle Beach twice a year for 20 years and have never found that I get a better price by renting from an owner. And if you rent through the hotel and there is a problem with something the maintenance people are on location to fix it whereas if you rent from an owner you need to contact them and have them find someone to deal with it.
