(TGA) - My husband and i will be in Denmark for 3 nights in June 2010. Where is the best city to base ourselves in for day trips. We will have a rental car? What are the must do and see things in Denmark?

Hi
We are actually travelling through Europe for 9 weeks. We will have a rental car the whole time. I have heard Denmark is often overlooked that is why we want to visit. We will be arriving 4th June 2010 and have allowed 3 days. We just dont know what to do and see except everyone on TA says Copenhagen has loads to do and a visit to Malmo is good too. We love food and wine and generally some touristy stuff, but love to wander the shops and sights on foot to get the feel of the cities. We are in out mid 40's. We have not booked accommodation yet as we are booking as we travel so we have the options to stay as long or as little in each country as we want. Any suggestions for Denmark is greatly appreciated. Regards Brooke

There are many interesting areas in Denmark, so it depends a lot on how much driving you want: Skagen is recommended but about as far from Copenhagen as you can get. If you come from the south, you may want to check out Ribe and the west coast, or go the the islands south of Funen (Fyn). Odense is the home city of Hand Christian Andersen, Obviously you may also want to check out Legoland on the way. Kolding has a spectacular castle, and so on...
